Preserving the Soul of Manx Sailing

A MANX SAILING HERITAGE

The C1 Sailing Heritage Trust is dedicated to restoring, sailing and celebrating the Castletown One Design a small fleet of gaff-rigged boats with deep roots in Isle of Man maritime life.

What we do

Restore

Feeagh the Raven is our first vessel in care. A C1 Design donated to the Trust, she is being assessed and restored to sail again. Follow her story.

Sail

Heritage sailing is not just about preservation it is about experience. Our goal is to get people on the water in these beautiful, historic boats.

Educate

From seamanship to boatbuilding, we run workshops, volunteer days and community events that keep traditional maritime skills alive on the Isle of Man.

THE RAVEN

Meet Feeagh

Feeagh is the Manx word for Raven. She is a C1 Design a gaff-rigged wooden sailing boat built from a mould taken from an old wooden boat discovered in Port St Mary decades ago. Gifted to the Trust, she is the heart of our restoration work.

Her history winds through Castletown hands passed down through a small chain of local sailors who kept her safe until she found her home with us.

Do you know a C1?

eleven C1 Design boats were built from the original Castletown mould. Some may have left the Isle of Man. If you know of one or have memories, photographs or stories of the C1 fleet we would love to hear from you.
